Head of Legal

We are looking for an experienced, meticulous Legal Wizard for the role of Head of Legal for our high growth Artificial Intelligence technology company in the People Sciences industry. As HiredScore’s exciting growth continues, including adding new Fortune 500 clients, global presence, partners, and innovation in the compliance for AI for HR world, this person will be responsible for a wide and complex array of matters, including client contracts, partnership agreements, AI legal affairs, and technology issues, such as data protection, privacy, and IP.

As Head of Legal you will:

  • Draft, review, negotiate and manage a wide variety of Fortune 500 client contracts, including NDAs, Master Services Agreements, SaaS Agreements, and miscellaneous agreements related to clients
  • Negotiate contract terms with Clients and have oversight of HiredScore’s ongoing legal items to ensure that they are strategically and timely managed
  • Work closely with CEO and Partnerships team in drafting and strategizing various agreements for strategic partnerships and work with other vendors
  • Communicate with HiredScore’s external counsels for specialized legal work, including Global law firms on areas such as GDPR compliance, global partners, and special situations
  • Support the CEO and the Head of Data Science in work related to Artificial Intelligence legal governance and thought leadership in related Future of Work areas, including Fair Hiring Laws and AI governance
  • Work with the HiredScore CEO, sales, account executives, and the finance team to manage risk and ensure business needs are reflected accurately in agreements across the company
  • Generate standard form HiredScore agreements and legal processes to scale HiredScore’s legal functions globally

What You Need:

  • Law degree from a US-accredited Law School
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Self-driven and can tackle diverse challenges
  • Effective at managing and handling direct communication & negotiation with Fortune 500 client counsels and outside counsels
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills and ability to perform in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Intellectual agility and ability to apply lessons learned from each negotiation
  • Strong business judgment and negotiating skills
  • Preferred Bar Certified in a state in the US
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word

Required Experience & Skills:

  • 3-6 years experience negotiating and drafting substantive contractual terms (inbound, outbound, technology, alliance partners)
  • 2-5 years SaaS and/or other technology in-house experience, especially interesting if in Artificial Intelligence Technology or Human Resources-related Technology

Preferred Skills:

  • Exposure to or familiarity with Fortune 500 corporate & contract law
  • Experience with technology / cloud SaaS contracts and legal negotiations
  • Familiarity with compliance, regulations (GDPR, etc), and responsible AI legal requirements
  • Interest in AI and Future of Work Legal Challenges and Areas of Innovation
